KAPPO, a MICHELIN Star in Cascais

In 2026, KAPPO was awarded one MICHELIN Star. This distinction is now part of our journey as a Japanese fine dining restaurant in the centre of Cascais, in the Lisbon region.

At the counter, the starting point remains the same: seasonality, produce, technique and attention to each guest.

A milestone in KAPPO’s journey

Since 2021, KAPPO has been shaping its own identity in Cascais, always evolving while remaining true to the way we understand cuisine and the experience around the counter.

For us, the MICHELIN Star is an important milestone in that journey. We remain guided, however, by the same principle: approaching every service with care, continuing to evolve and preserving what has brought us this far.

A distinction built by a team

Under the culinary leadership of Chef Tiago Penão, we work together across the kitchen, front of house and the wider team that supports the restaurant. What reaches the counter begins long before service and depends on everyone’s attention.

We see this distinction as part of the journey we continue to shape, ingredient by ingredient, gesture by gesture, service by service.
