KAPPO is a Japanese fine dining restaurant in Cascais, centred around an omakase experience at the counter. The cuisine brings Japanese tradition and technique together with Portuguese produce and seasonality.

At KAPPO, omakase is an experience in which the guest entrusts the Chef with choosing and pacing the menu. The sequence is guided by the season, the availability of produce and the balance between Japanese tradition and contemporary interpretation, with the preparation taking place in front of the guests.

Yes. Provided we are informed at least 48 hours in advance, we can adapt the menu to certain allergies, intolerances or dietary restrictions. All adaptations are subject to prior confirmation by our team.

No. KAPPO does not currently offer vegetarian or vegan menus.

The experience should be considered individually by each guest. At KAPPO, we work with fresh fish and fish-ageing techniques and do not use freezing. The menu includes preparations of raw or lightly cooked fish.

For this reason, we cannot guarantee an adaptation of the menu that removes all foods commonly advised against during pregnancy. The decision to take part in the experience should be made by the guest, taking into account their individual circumstances and the advice of the healthcare professional overseeing the pregnancy.

We are unable to offer a completely gluten-free tasting menu. Our cuisine uses ingredients that are essential to the experience, including soy sauce containing gluten, which means we cannot guarantee a gluten-free menu.

We can welcome guests without a reservation subject to availability, but the likelihood of having seats available on the same day is low. We always recommend booking in advance.

Cancellations or changes must be made at least 48 hours in advance.

We ask guests to arrive on time. There is a 10-minute grace period after the reservation time; after that, we may not be able to guarantee the experience in its entirety.

Yes. We welcome children from the age of 8, provided they have the full tasting menu.

Yes. The dress code is casual chic. Beachwear and sportswear are not permitted.

The restaurant is accessible to people with reduced mobility. However, the toilet facilities are not accessible to wheelchair users, so we consider it important to make guests aware of this limitation before their visit.
